What Does NCS Vault do? 
Our system securely backs up your sensitive and important data to our Secure Datacenter servers.  The data is backed up on whatever schedule you desire and at a time of your choosing.

How does it work? 
At each scheduled backup time the selected data is encrypted with 128bit AES Blowfish encryption before it ever leaves your computer.  The data is then compressed and sent over a secure connection (an SSL link just as you use for online banking) to our primary Secure Datacenter Storage server here in Bartlett, TN.  In near real-time the data is sent out from our primary server to our secondary server located outside of the Memphis area.   NCS has state of the art server equipment with a highly redundant Raid 5 +1 data storage system.

What do I have to do every day to make sure that it’s really backing up my data?
Once the NCS Secure Offsite Backup System is installed and your backup is scheduled the rest is totally automatic.  You will receive an email daily that gives you the status of your backup.  This includes new and changed files as well as the total storage volume in use. If a backup is missed, an email warning notification will be sent allowing you the option to run the backup manually.

How secure is my data?
The encryption algorithm is considered unbreakable during our lifetime.  The encryption key is only stored on YOUR computer.  The data on our servers is always stored in encrypted form and meets HIPAA standards for security. 

So what happens if we have a disaster and all of our onsite data is lost?
In case of a large scale disaster NCS will copy your backed up data to an external storage device, still in encrypted form, and bring it onsite and initiate the restore process from there.  Many gigabytes of data would take some time to restore over an internet connection and the direct method of restoration will allow your business to be back up and running in the minimum amount of time.

Suppose I just need one file that I accidently deleted or has become corrupt?
The local NCS Secure software will allow you to browse for a file by file name or path. Just navigate an easy to use tree and with a couple of clicks your file will be on its way back to your computer where it will be decrypted and restored.

Does the computer data that I am backing up have to be here at my business location?
No, we can backup data from your offsite employees' computers/notebooks also.  In addition, if your offsite employee/sales person ever decides to leave your company and not return your company equipment and data, all the backed up items can be restored to a new laptop that is being assigned to his or her replacement.

Ok, I’m sold.  What does it cost?
NCS starts all customers out with 10 Gigabytes of secure offsite storage at our Memphis Datacenter AND our remote redundant Datacenter at a cost of $89.95 per month for a single account.  A single account can be used to backup more than one computer with some limitations.
